Once upon a time, the founding members of Trinity of Hope Dog Rescue had a
dream - to be able to assist those undergoing difficult times to keep their
dogs. THDR is humbled to be able to make this dream become a reality by
helping Beaubie. Beaubie is a 12 yr. old Golden Retriever whose mom is
undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. Originally, Beau's mom and dad
contacted the angel of senior dog rescue, Jude Fine, Senior Canine Rescue
Society, to surrender Beau to rescue, recognizing that at this very difficult
time in their lives, they would not have time to spend with Beau.
THDR is honoured to be the Eastern Canadian contact for SCRS. As such, we
were prepared to find a foster home for Beau and care for him. Originally, his
family was going to surrender him to SCRS/THDR. Instead, Beau is being held
*in trust,* with the hope that before too long, he will be able to go home
again.
Heartfelt THANK YOU to Tash, Todd, Rhea, and Mollo for opening your hearts
and home by inviting Beau to come stay with you. Thank you also to Dick and
Jan, for trusting us to care for Beau as you would. Kudos to all the fine
folks who are part of the the Ontario branch of the Canine Underground Railway
for stepping up to the platform--you are the best.
Joseph Campbell once wrote that people cross our pathes for a reason. We
may not know the reason at the time, but there is a reason. He also wrote that
there are those people who are heros. Each of the fine folks who offered to
help Beau are heros in our eyes (Todd, Tash, Carol, Heather, Sandy, Yvonne,
Bob, Barb, Alan, Sage, Rebecca, and Jude). We are deeply touched and humbled
by the depth of your caring.
Beaubie returned home to his mom and dad where he spent a fun-filled summer
and fall taking trips to the cottage and welcoming his new brother, Fritzy, to
the family. His presence was a great comfort to Jan. Not long ago, we received
the news that Jan was doing very well and that the onocologist was very
optimistic. We rejoiced with them over this great news, in the same way that
today we share their grief.
If this story has touched your heart, please make a donation to your local
breast cancer society or
paws for charity. And, if it isn't too much to ask, please keep Beau's
mom in your thoughts and prayers--no one knows enough to be a pessimist.
